Why This Book
I chose this fantastic book because it looked interesting. I had tried to read it before but was too busy with school and never finished it. Now I have read the series a couple times over. These books have had a significant impact on me because the books were interesting and action packed.
"Behind them two ranks of diesel-powered walking machines stood ready to fire, cannon aimed over the heads of the cavalry."- Alek
The book was kind of relatable, well the themes are relatable. I could relate to these characters because Alek goes through many things normal people go through but just all at one time.
"Like young Mozart," Otto said softly. "In the archduke's stories."- Otto Klopp
I also read the book because it is about World War I. WWI is also my favorite of all the wars because it is least depressing and happened during the Industrialization era. I liked this time of the World's history because a lot of events happened during that time.
"War was coming, after all. Everyone said so."- Alek
Finally, i liked the conflicts that inflicted Alek and Deryn. They author drew them so intellingently and it showed. I liked how the characters thought and the conflicts they had involved loyalty and duty.
"Isn't this one of Mother's riding paths?" Alek said. "She'll have my hide if we track it up!"- Alek
